Dr. Robert J Anderson

Robert J. Anderson, Jr., 74, of Pine Beach, died on Thursday, June 10, 2021. Born in Lakewood, Robert was a lifelong resident of Pine Beach. Mr. Anderson owned and operated his family dental practice in Pine Beach for over 30 years ago. He was a graduate of Toms River South High School, obtained his Bachelor’s Degree at Union College in Kentucky and his Doctorate Degree in Dentistry at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He started as an associate dentist in Toms River before opening his own office in Pine Beach, retiring earlier than he wanted to due to medical concerns. Bob was an avid scuba diver in very deep waters. He also enjoyed family trips and working around his home and office. He was a member of the ADA of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, a very active member and volunteer of Dental Health Week, where he donated much of his time, dental talents, speaking engagements on dental health and using his own supplies at area schools and home bound patients.

He was predeceased by his parents, Robert Sr., and Constance, also by his wife Barbara in 2016 and recently by his son Robert III. Mr. Anderson is survived by his son Brad, and his brother Glenn.

There will be a viewing for family and friends on Thursday, June 17th starting at 10am in the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Burial to Whiting Memorial Park in Manchester Township will follow at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory to; ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (als.org) or Muscular Dystrophy, (mda.com/donate) would be appreciated.
