Dominic “Don” Crowe, 91, of Pine Beach NJ peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. Surrounded by his loving family, Dominic departed this earth to be reunited with Our
Lord and Savior. Born in Torbay, Newfoundland on August 14,1932, Don left Canada at the young age of 15 to work on the ships before joining the crew aboard the Queen of Bermuda. By
his late teens, Don made his way to Brooklyn, New York becoming a member of the ironworker union before being drafted into the Army in 1956. Don proudly served our United States Military
which included a tour in Germany. His sweet Rosemary, the true love of his life, patiently waited for his return to US soil and they were married on February 13, 1960. Soon after, Don became a
member of the dock builders union, and moved to Edison, NJ before ultimately settling down at the Jersey Shore in 1965. Don, along with his business partner, Al Stork, owned and operated
Bird Construction successfully for 30 years creating one of the most well-known Marine construction companies in the area.
Don was a founding member of St. Barnabas parish in Bayville, NJ where he remained an usher and trustee for over 40 years. In addition, Dominic was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Barnabas Council #8603
and an active member of the Holy Name Society. He also dedicated much of his life to both St. Joseph Parish and school, where all six of his children and many grandchildren have and
continue to attend. Throughout his life, Don was a devout Catholic who incorporated faith into daily life.
Adoring and devoted husband to his dear wife of 63 years, Rosemary, and beloved father to six children: Francis and his wife Kelly, Cathy and her husband Timothy, Dominic and his wife
Nancy, Sean and his wife Megan, Brian and Dawn,Tara and her husband Matthew. His greatest pleasure was being a proud Papa to his 13 cherished grandchildren: Briana, Corey, Chelsea,
Morgan, Ryan, Ryley, Bryce, Sean, McKinley, Madison, Maeve, Colin, and Liam who were his true pride and joy. He lived each day to the fullest, treasured every moment spent with family,
friends, and his church community. Often seen with a harmonica in hand or an accordion on his lap, Don was most joyful when he was singing and dancing in the company of others.
Family and friends will be received at Mastapeter Memorial Home 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 4-7 pm. Catholic mass will be offered at St. Barnabas R.C.
