Debra M. McConnell, 60 years young, of Toms River, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at home after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family. Debra was born in Toms River, and resided in Beachwood for many years before moving to Toms River with her loving and caring husband John S. McConnell. Debra was employed as a procurement specialist at the Naval Air Warfare Center in Lakehurst for 30+ years before retiring in July of 2022. Debra is predeceased by her parents Albert E. Palmieri and Nancy M. Schena Palmieri. Surviving are her husband John S. McConnell of 28 years who she loved with all her heart; her children Nicole M. Pribula and Jon J. McConnell and the apple of her eye, her granddaughter Aubree; her brothers Albert E. Palmieri Jr. and Jay S. Palmieri and his life spouse Kelly Dickinson; God daughter Jayme Palmieri, along with nieces, nephews, many dear cousins, family, and friends who became family over the course of her life. Debra enjoyed having her feet in the sand and tequila in hand along with spending time making memories with family and friends. Viewing will be Tuesday January 10th from 6-9pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd, in Bayville. Family and friends will gather again at 11am for a funeral mass at St. Barnabas Church. Burial will follow at St Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River.
