Danny D. Warthen, 77, of Beachwood, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Andalusia, Alabama, he then enlisted in the US Army in 1966 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, in charge of Howitzer Cannon Fire Detail also serving time on the DMZ in Korea, honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1972. He then moved to Beachwood in the 1970s. Danny was self-employed in the real estate and appraisal industry for many years.
Danny was a man of many talents and passions. He was very much liked by everyone he met and greatly loved by his family and close friends. Family was most important to him, and he cherished his many friendships. In addition to his professional pursuits, Danny enjoyed Pool Billiards, trips to AC, playing cards, and traveling with family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Elwood and Thelma. Surviving is his wife of 55 years Corrine; two sons, Danny Jr. and his wife Rachel, and Kevin and his wife Lesly. His six grandchildren, Drew, Sarah, Andrew, Connor, Dylan, and Riley, also his brother Donny Warthen.
Visiting hours will be Friday, Feb. 9th, from 6pm to 9pm at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. On Saturday there will be a visitation at the funeral home at 9:30am before celebrating an 11am Funeral Mass at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville.
