Cynthia Grieve Obituary

Our beloved Mom, Cynthia “Cindy” (Ramos) Grieve, 72, of Ocean Gate, NJ passed away suddenly on July 16, 2022 with her loving family by her side.  Cindy was born in the Bronx, NY and was known to many as a dear aunt, “Titi” and friend.  She is predeceased by her husband, Patrick and her parents Alfonso and Fortunata (LoGiudice) Ramos.  She is survived by her children Jen and Gregg and her son-in-laws Mike and Tom.  She is also predeceased by her faithful companion, Bill, and remained close with his son, Billy.

Cindy’s brothers, Alphonse and Anthony, and their wives, Norma and Dia, were very dear to her and she was immensely proud of their children.  Her brother Alphonse and Norma’s children: Krystal (Thomas), Alex, Alphonse and Brittney; and her brother, Anthony and Dia’s children: Elena and Anthony. She also enjoyed spending time with Leanna and Landon (Kyrstal/Thomas). As the aunt who always kept the family together, Cindy also ensured that she remained close with Pat’s sisters and brother-in-laws, Ali (John) and Jodi (Bill) (all deceased) and their children: Doug and Gordon (deceased), Tammy (Frank), Debbie and Heather and Bill (Cynthia), Gary (Lisa) and Janet (Ray).  Cindy was extremely fond of her brothers, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews and they were the true lights of her life.

Cindy was a true matriarch of the family and was devoted to bringing family together on numerous occasions.  Her greatest source of joy was being surrounded by the ones she loved and held closest to her heart.  Her door was always open and she loved welcoming everyone to her beautiful home on the bay in Ocean Gate.

We would be remiss if we didn’t mention Cindy’s love of cooking, football and animals. Mom could always be found in the kitchen, and while the debate about whose lasagna was the best is still ongoing, she never missed a moment to welcome someone into her kitchen where she created something spectacular.  As a devoted Jets fan, she would never be interrupted during Sunday game day.  She may not have had a winning team to cheer for, but she certainly remained a devoted fan.  Cindy also adored animals. Throughout her life, she took in many rescues and she never gave up on them. In recent years, she spent her happiest moments with her grandpups: Mia, Cali and Georgia.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cindy’s life on Thursday and Friday.  Our family kindly requests that you dress in Cindy’s favorite colors of blue or green or a bright color to honor her beautiful, kind, and joyful spirit.
