Carol Ann Pace Obituary

Carol Ann (Brescia) Pace, 75, of Bayville, NJ, passed away at home after a brave battle with cancer and dementia on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

Carol was a loving and devoted mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She was born on October 14, 1948, to Anthony and Angelina (DeMiro) Brescia in East Orange, NJ, where she grew up and attended the all-girl East Orange Catholic High School and graduated in 1966. She then went on to work at East Orange Town Hall, where she worked for many years with her best friend, Susan. During that time, she met Ron Pace from Newark, NJ and they married on January 13, 1978.

Carol and Ron moved “down the shore” to Pelican Drive in Bayville, where they lived for more than two decades. She was a lifelong, devout Catholic who prayed the rosary daily and always had a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother. Carol loved spending time with her best friend Rita, caring for the family dog, Angel, and selflessly caring for her family around the clock. After surviving breast cancer, Carol worked for nearly 15 years as the Secretary in the Detective Bureau of the Berkeley Township Police Department where “C-roll” was adored and appreciated by many colleagues who became friends.

Carol was the most compassionate, thoughtful, and generous person who had a big heart, always putting others before herself. She had the best sense of humor and loved to laugh, which she did until the very end. Carol also enjoyed listening to Billy Joel, cheering for the Yankees and 49ers, and watching Blue Bloods. However, the thing Carol loved the most was being with her family, especially granddaughter Giana, the most precious light of her life. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was a truly special woman who touched the lives of everyone she met.

Carol is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ron Pace; her daughter Nicole Pace-Addeo and son-in-law Matthew Addeo; her son Vincent Pace and fiancé Jamie Higley; her most beloved granddaughter Giana Gabrielle Pace and her mother, Jackie Perri along with her children Dominick and Julie; her step grandchildren Andrew, Justin and Alexa; her cherished nieces Maria (Brescia) Moloney and Toni (Brescia) DeMartino, and their husbands Kevin and Eddie; her brother-in-law Michael Pace; her cousin Carole DeMiro; her brother Gus Brescia and sister-in-law Diane Brescia; her brother Anthony Brescia; her loyal best friend Susan Taylor; her wonderful caregivers Marlene and Eric; plus many very special young ones she loved being around including Morgan, Dean, Carly and Brooke.

Visiting hours for relatives and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 1st from 4:00-7:00pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ. A Catholic Mass will be held on Thursday, November 2nd at 11:00am at St. Barnabas RC Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, (mskcc.org), in her memory.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
