Obituary

On May 20, 2022, she arrived in Heaven to eternally join her beloved husband Carmin Novellino, her parents John and Teresa Granata, son John and wife Lorraine, grandson Staff Sergeant Matthew Novellino, a highly decorated US Army Green Beret and son-in-law Frank Fiore.

Nanni was born in Newark, New Jersey 97 years ago. She met the love of her life (Carmin/ Dad/Pop Pop) who was also living in Newark. When he returned home from World War II they were married on May 19, 1946. They moved to East Orange and began their family, sons John and Anthony and daughters Theresa Fiore, Mary Peck, Joanne and Dolores Raia. In 1956 they purchased a summer home in Ocean Gate NJ. They loved the beach and decided to become permanent residents eventually settling in a waterfront home in Berkeley Township. Nanni, who disliked being an only child, and Pop Pop loved and believed in having a large happy Italian family and lots of good food. Their greatest joy in life was the success of their children and the arrival of grandchildren, Melissa Fiore, Joseph Fiore, Cara Irwin, Matthew Novellino, Maria Graziano, Margaret Clements, Christopher Peck, Michael Peck, Denise Peck, Gregory Faljean, Desiree Faljean, Angela Esslinger, Carmin Faljean, Amy Novellino Battaglia, Nicole Raia, Lauren Mooney and Victoria Bell. They loved all the holidays, family picnics, sporting events, birthdays, First Holy Communions, Confirmations, graduations etc.!!! Then more joy, the Great Grandchildren, Alexis, Angela, Courtney, Ava, Roman, Miles, Sean, Michael, Jonathan, Gabriella, Isabella, Giovanna, Alessa, Vienna, Siena, Frank, Cecilia, Jayson, Carmella, Arlo, Cameryn, Luca and one more, a boy due next month! Nanni and Pop Pop were blessed with all they wished for including several worldwide trips with stops in Europe, particularly Italy and as far as Israel and Egypt. Our family is blessed knowing they are together again, for it was A Wonderful Life.
