Brian P. Powers, 34, of Ocean Gate, New Jersey passed away on February 2, 2023. Born in Toms River, he lived in Ocean Gate all of his life. He graduated from Central Regional High School in 2007 and then attended Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island. He was employed as a laborer for Laborer’s Union #172 in Trenton, New Jersey for many years. He was an avid wrestler and had a love of the beach, outdoors, animals and his home town of Ocean Gate.
He is predeceased by his grandmother, Barbara Duehne, and grandparents, Joseph and Evelyn Powers.
Surviving are his mother Barbara Powers and partner Ricky Hawkins, his father Joseph Powers Jr., three siblings, Jennifer Powers and fiancé Steven Graziano, Stefanie Powers, and Joseph Powers. He also leaves behind his girlfriend Rachel Betts and son Michael, his best friend Carly, and many extended family and friends.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 4pm-7pm at Mastapeter memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Brian’s memory to the Popcorn Park Zoo are greatly appreciated.
