Bertha Florence Saling, 92, of Bayville, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on July 21, 2023. Born in Carlstadt and has resided in Bayville for the past 50 years. Mrs. Saling was a Licensed Practical Nurse employed at Community Medical Center with over 25 years of dedicated service. Bertha was very proud and diligent at her job. She was totally devoted to her loving family. To her, the center of her life was her family and her job helping people. She also was a true animal lover and enjoyed feeding and caring for her backyard squirrels and rabbits. Mrs. Saling was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1993, by her daughter Janice in 2012 and by her son Peter in 2023.
Surviving are her five children, Nancy Saling and her husband Richard Martin, Robert Saling, Susanne Desruisseaux, MaryAnn Saling and Judith Saling; four grandchildren, Regina Frees, Georgianna Isenman and her husband Eric, Rhianna McLoughlin and her husband Robert and Peter Saling; six great grandchildren, Marcus, Adrianna, Lilly, Elliott, Rosemary and Atlas, also her daughter-in-law Christine Saling
Visiting hours for relatives and friends will be offered on Tuesday, July 25th, from 2pm to 4pm then again from 7pm to 9pm at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Funeral is Wednesday, 9:30am at the funeral home or meet at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Ave., Bayville to celebrate an 11am Funeral Mass. Burial will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
