Bartholomew Thomas and Barbara Ann Segreto

Bartholomew Thomas and Barbara Ann Segreto Obituary

Bartholomew Thomas and Barbara Ann “Reeves” Segreto, had both passed away from this earthly existence, Bart died on December 19, 2021 and Barbara died on October 15, 2023. Their Services will be celebrated together at St. Barnabas Church in Bayville. Barbara was born on March 5, 1945 and grew up in Springfield, New Jersey. She was an only child and had a very small family. Her mom had an antique store. This helps explain why her home was filled with collectables and antiques, all neatly displayed and well cared for. While her own family was small, she married the love of her life, Bartholomew Thomas Segreto, on October 6, 1994, and enjoyed 27 happy years with him and his extended family. Barbara worked at a variety of office type jobs but during her marriage to Bart, she mainly managed their home in Bayville. They loved their home, a home they bought together. It was something they were most proud of. They also both loved their dogs, two little fur babies that they cherished. When you look at the many photographs of Barbara and Bartholomew, taken over the span of their time together, you cannot help but notice that her eyes are always lovingly set upon Bart. There can be no doubt, this was a true and lasting romance.

Barbara Ann deeply missed the love of her life, Bartholomew T. Segreto who died on December 19, 2021. He was a very athletic man and a highly decorated Army soldier, who proudly served his country, in hand-to-hand combat, during the Vietnam War. Sadly, he lost his battle with Agent Orange related illness. Also predeceased by both their parents and, John Segreto, Carlo Segreto and wife Franny, and sisters Mary Valentino and husband Sonny, and sister Rose Bujacich and husband Thomas.

Barbara had no known living survivors other than those of Bart’s family who is survived by: loving brothers Joseph Segreto and wife Marilyn and Thomas Segreto and wife Linda; sisters, Anna Segreto, Paula Leonhardt and Toni Alfano and husband Joseph, and twenty-six nieces and nephews who adored him.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for both Barbara and Bart on Friday, Nov. 3rd, at 11am in St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville NJ 08721.
