We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Mastapeter Memorial Home Inc.
Arlene Zuschnitt, (nee Brown) 71, of Ocean Gate passed away on July 20, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Arlene was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She spent her summers in Ocean Gate, NJ where she met her beloved husband, Chick. They raised their family in Palmyra, NJ where Arlene never missed her children’s football games, dance recitals, or wrestling matches. Arlene touched the lives of so many, making friends wherever she went.
After 22 years in Palmyra, Chick and Arlene retired to Ocean Gate. She loved planning the “Second Pier Friends” 4th of July Parade routine, cooking crabs, caring for her plants, serving ice cream for dinner, and being a member of the Ocean Gate Yacht Club. She will always be remembered for her selflessness, generosity, and welcoming heart, not to mention her famous brownies! Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and being the best Mom Mom to her grandchildren. She loved them as high as the sky and as deep as the ocean.
Arlene is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Charles “Chick” Zuschnitt; and their children, Charles Jr., Michael, Jamie, Robert, Dana and her husband Brian. Also surviving are her 10 grandchildren, Christopher, Addison, Michael, Matthew, Charlee, Callie, Maddie, Jack, Maverick, and Karson, her loyal sisters, Felicia and Helene, nieces Kali, Jackie, Melanie and nephew Shawn.
Visiting hours will be Saturday, July 23rd, from 10am to 1pm, with a Prayer Service at 12:30pm, in the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville NJ. In lieu of flowers donations in Arlene's name to the Cystic fibrosis foundation would be appreciated, https://www.cff.org/donate.
