Anton Picinic, 77, of Beachwood, died peacefully at home with his loving family at his side. Born and raised in Yugoslavia, he settled with family to New York City. He then lived many years in Middlesex County before moving to Beachwood 25 years ago. Mr. Picinic enjoyed baking and was a professional baker who owned and operated Butter Cake Bakery in Middlesex County. He then took the position as manager at the bakery department of the former A&P Food Store in Ortley Beach, retiring 12 years ago. Anton was an avid fisherman, gardener, and loved to bake and cook for family and friends. He was very patriotic and proud to be an American. He also was a parishioner of St. Barnabas Church in Bayville.
Surviving are his loving wife Vincenza, his devoted daughter Sabrina Hurgoi and two sisters.
Visiting hours for relatives and friends will be offered on Monday, March 30th, from 6pm to 8pm at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Funeral Tuesday, 9:30am at the funeral home before leaving to celebrate an 11am Funeral Mass at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville. Entombment will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery, Grove Street, Toms River.
