Anna E Swider

Anna E. Swider (Pignatora) - after a short illness, Anna died peacefully at her home in Beachwood, NJ on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Born on May 29, 1930, to Frank and Rose Pignatora, Anna
grew up with 8 brothers and sisters in Newark, NJ. It was there in the Down Neck section of Newark that Ann found her true love, Bernard. They married in May of 1950 and continued to live in Down Neck and raise their 3 children, Bernard, Robert, and Nancy. Once the children were all raised and on their own, Anna & Bernard packed up and moved to Beachwood where they would continue to enjoy retirement.

When Bernard died in 1996, Anna was determined to live by herself and took up driving full time at the age of 65. Supported by her children, her neighbors, and her Beachwood and Ocean Gate
community of friends, Anna continued her wish of living independently until the very end.

Anna is survived by her sister Ellen Swider, sons, Bernard & wife MaryAnn, Robert & wife Kirsten and daughter Nancy Bury & husband Paul, along with 2 grandchildren, Janine Bury and Joe Ault, Jill Afarian and husband Aram, as well as 5 great grandchildren, Alexis, Zoe, Payton, Nora and Emmett. Also many nieces and nephews.

A memorial funeral mass will be held at St Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd. Bayville, NJ 08721, on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 11am.  A burial of ashes will take place on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 11am at Holy Cross Cemetery 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
