Angelo DeSalvo, 86 of Toms River, loving husband, father and brother, passed away on June 25, 2018. Angelo was born in the Bronx, NY, raised his family in New Milford, NJ and retired to Toms River, NJ in 1989.
Angelo proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He is the recipient of the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. After leaving military service, he worked as a civilian for both the US Navy and US Army at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and the Picatinny Arsenal, respectively.
Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Kathleen; three devoted children and their families: Colleen DeSalvo and Cesar Rivera, Nancy DeSalvo and Federico Fermin, and Angelo & Danielle DeSalvo; five grandchildren: Angelo, Aidan, Mateo, Dominic and Lucia; his sister, Marie Grosso and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 2pm to 6pm at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Funeral Monday, July 2nd at 10am at the funeral home before celebrating with an 11am Funeral Mass at St. Barnabas Church in Bayville. Burial will follow at New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ
