Angelina Esolda

Angelina Esolda, age 97, of Ocean Gate NJ passed away peacefully on December 13,2024. Born in Merangeli Italy on July 15, 1927, Angie immigrated to the U.S. with her parents in 1929 and settled in Plainfield NJ. She worked for General Electric holding various positions until her retirement. Angie enjoyed cooking and baking. She worked in catering for the Knights of Columbus in Kenilworth NJ for many years. She baked fabulous cakes for family and friends for all occasions. She was also a crafter and expert seamstress, even making wedding dresses for her sister and niece. She moved to Ocean Gate in 1993 where she became a member of the Historical Society there and became the Treasurer for the organization. She was an avid traveler and visited many countries in Europe and Asia, also Russia and went on Safari in Africa. Angie loved animals, especially cats, in which she was known for taking in strays.

She is survived by her niece Nancy Toth and nephew Sam Occhiato and her cousins Lena Infante, Caterina Diana and Anna Leone.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on December 18, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Mastapeter Memorial Home. 270 Atlantic City Blvd Bayville, NJ 08721. Funeral to follow at St. Barnabas Church 33 Woodland Rd Bayville. In lieu of flowers please send donations to local animal shelters in Ocean County.
