Andrew Bara Obituary

Andrew S. Bara, 80, of Elizabeth, died on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Mr. Bara was a lifelong resident of Elizabeth who enjoyed spending summertime at the Jersey Shore. Andy was a Chemical Engineer with New Jersey State Department of Environmental Protection for many years before retiring. He graduated Rutgers University and achieved his Master's Degree at the University of West Virginia. He proudly served his country in the US Army and was Honorably discharged as 2nd Lieutenant. He was a member of the NRA, The Knights of Columbus Elizabeth Council, the Moose Lodge of Linden and the Association of Mature American Club. Andy was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Annmay and by his son Raymond.

Surviving are; his two children, Andrew J. Bara and his wife Valeria and Melissa Kistner and her husband Matthew. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Gabriella, Arianna, Madison and Matthew.

Visiting hours will be Sunday, Aug. 13th, from 5pm to 7pm at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Funeral Monday, 9am at the Funeral Home before celebrating an 11am Funeral Mass at St. Pius Church, 300 Lacey Road, Forked River 08731. Cremation will be private.
