Ana Tabao Obituary

On May 16, 2021, Ana Tabao passed away peacefully at home in Bayville, NJ at the age of 97. She was born in Manila, Philippines, and was raised by her mom, Clara Ventura. She worked as a supervisor for a publishing company for 20 years in Quezon City, Philippines.

Ana’s greatest pride was her family. Ana and Dionisio were married in Manila, and her loving husband passed in 1985. The joy she found in her children sustained her throughout her life: Eduardo and his wife Mercedes, Danny and his wife Evelyn, Sonia and her husband Eduardo, Jun and his wife Norlie, and Leonora Buhay. Despite her busy schedule at work, Ana always made time to support and love her family, not out of obligation, but because of who she was. Her caring nature was the inspiration behind her nickname, “Nanay”, which means "mother." She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures and always baked and cooked to ensure everyone was well fed. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, and especially loved teasing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nanay was tough, feisty, and a straight shooter, but very respected and loved by all. Preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leonardo and Pipang, two sisters, Luring and Turing, husband Dionisio, and her sons, Eduardo Tabao and Eduardo Banaag. She is survived by her children, Danny, Sonia, Jun, and Leonora, 12 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
