Alex Collazo, 54, of Bayville passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023. Alex was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Franklin D. Roosevelt H.S. in Brooklyn. He got married in 1995 to his only wife, Laurie, of 28 years. Together they raised their two children Alex Jr. and Jazz, then later moved to Bayville in 2003. He was such a strong, loving, and charismatic man. He always worked hard to provide for his family. He spent the last 18 years of his short life as a bus driver in Lakewood. He was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, friend, Yankees and Jets fan, plus so much more. He loved spending every day like it was his last. His favorite things to do were to have a great night out with friends at the casino or at a club dancing which he always called “woohoo-ing.” Overall, a great man that blessed so many just with his presence.
Alex is survived by so many loved ones including, his two wonderfully loved children, Alex and his wife Amanda, and Jazz; their mother, Laurie; his two adored grandchildren AJ and Alaila; his siblings Wanda, Carlos and Nanette; his dear nieces and nephews Jeanine, Erica, Carlos and Keith. Along with many more close friends and family members.
There will be a viewing for Alex on Friday, April 7, 2023, from 4pm-8pm with a prayer service at 7:30pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd, Bayville, NJ 08721.
