Al Ferreira, 58, of Little Egg Harbor Township, died on Thursday, October 7, 2021, after a long illness. Born in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal, he settled in Newark as a very young child in 1966. Then the family moved to East Newark and later moved to Beachwood to raise his young family. Only recently moving to Little Egg Harbor. Mr. Ferreira worked in the chemical industry at Englehart Chemical as a chemical operator, then as a truck driver for several years. He also worked as a chemical operator for Crompton Knowles based in Newark.
Al loved fishing and crabbing on Barnegat Bay. He also was a talented artist and enjoyed painting wall murals, riding his quad, gardening, Scuba diving and enjoyed the ocean. Mostly he enjoyed his family and reading the Bible. Al was predeceased by his father Arlindo and his son Michael.
Surviving are his three children, Christopher, Brian and Daniel; his mother Maria Isabel Ferreira; his granddaughter Hailey Ferreira and two siblings, Diana Ferreira and Jose Ferreira.
Visiting hours will be Monday, Oct. 11th, from 7pm to 9pm at the Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Funeral Tuesday, 10am at the funeral home before a Prayer Service begins at 11:30am. Entombment will follow to Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.
