Stanley D. Kendrick II, 94, of Ocean Gate passed away on November 10, 2020. Mr. Kendrick proudly served his country in the US Coast guard during World War II. He served aboard the USCGC Taney, one of the first ships to open fire on Japanese planes during Pearl Harbor. He later was Captain of the Newark Fire Department retiring after 35 years of service. He was married in 1953 to the love of his life, the late Connie Kendrick.
Stanley was Past Commander of the VFW Post 9503; State Commander of Hospital Committee and also served as a Service Officer there; Officer of the Old Guard of Toms River; member of the American Legion; member of the Ocean Gate Veterans Association, in which he was on the design committee to build the Ocean Gate Veterans Park; Cub Scout Leader BSA; and past Councilman of Ocean Gate.

Surviving are his children Stanley Kendrick III and his wife Patricia, David Kendrick, William Kendrick and his wife Deborah, and Michelle Kendrick and her husband Gary; his 9 grandchildren, Jeffrey Kendrick, Jessica Corrigan, Christopher Kendrick, Jacklyn Vickery, Bryan Bellew, Justin Bellew, Gabrielle Kendrick, Samantha Kaeser and Stephen Kaeser; his 7 great grandchildren Aimee Lowther, David Aliprandi, Phillip (Tripp) Corrigan, Emma Corrigan, Ava Greenwood, Arielle Phillips and Everett Vickery. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 11am at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd. Bayville, NJ 08721. Burial will immediately follow to the B.G.W.C.D. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of Mastapeter Memorial Home in Bayville.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Stanley's name made to Visiting Nurse Association Health and Hospice at would be greatly appreciated.
