Obituary

Richard M. Kirk Jr., age 57, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, September 25, 2020, at his Home in Whiting, NJ. He was born April 25, 1963 in Red Bank NJ, to Richard Sr. and Mary Ann Kirk. He was a graduate of Keyport High School in 1981 and enlisted in the US Navy shortly after. He married the love of his life, Helen Colon on September 19, 2020 in Forked River, NJ. He worked as a medical transportation specialist in the Ocean and Monmouth County areas, displaying a wonderful knack for treating his clients as if they were his closest friends. Richie truly lived life to the fullest and on his terms through simple pleasures chatting with friends and family, and spending time with his close friends and family, had an uncanny way of touching people on a deep and positive way.

He was known as the best “Pop Pop Rick” to his grandchildren Gabriella and Austin, as well as several other grandchildren. His passing has left an indelible hole in the lives of his many friends and family members. He is survived by his wife, Helen, and her children Raymond, Amanda, and Jennifer; his mother Mary Ann; brothers Tommy and Stephen, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Family, friends, and others whose lives that Richard has touched are invited here to add their own comments, photos, reminisce, grieve, support each other, or simply connect with one another. Services will be private at this time. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Mastapeter Memorial Home in Bayville.

I will always remember Rick as being the only father I've ever known. Even though he was my step dad he was truly my father. He was always the one to not want us to worry and just be happy. What I loved about him was he saw the best in everyone no matter what. The thing I'll miss most is that smile of his that could light up the entire room. My heart goes out to everyone hurting over this huge loss. Heaven is so lucky right now! Love you always!!
