Obituary

Mary “Sullivan” Sokol passed away peacefully at the age of 98, on Saturday, May 2, 2020.
Mary was born on June 30,1921 to Patrick and Elizabeth (Murphy) Sullivan. She was born and lived in Jersey City most of her life until moving to Bayville over 20 years ago to be with her family. Mary was employed with Western Electric and later worked as a home health aide. She was an active communicant of St. Barnabas Church and a volunteer with St. Vincent DePaul Society of the church.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Charles and by her loving daughter Joanne Fitzgerald.

She is survived by her son Paul Sokol and his wife Joann, her cherished grandchildren Mary Tuzzo and her husband Pete, Sean Fitzgerald, and Marissa Paul. Also surviving are her two great grandsons, Peter Tuzzo and Patrick Tuzzo as well as many loving cousins and family friends.

Mary loved her family and was a significant and important part of Mary and Sean’s childhood. She had a memorable laugh and smile. Her strength and spirit will be remembered and celebrated each and every day.

Our deepest sympathy on your loss of Mary. We knew Mary from Tallwoods when Tom's mother was there and when we volunteered in the dining room. We loved her laugh and she always had a smile on her face. May the angels greet her with open arms. Barbara and Tom Dudek
