Earl Pomeroy Sr., 76, of Bayville NJ, passed peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family at home on 3/31/2020 from complications of congestive heart failure. Earl Sr. also known as Mr. Pomi was born in Lakewood to George and Mary Emma Pomeroy. He was raised in Toms River then moved to Florida for 5 years before returning to NJ in December of 2018. He served our country in New Jersey Army National Guard for over 6 years as a tank driver and mechanic. Honorably discharged as an SP4/E4. Earl worked at BASF (formally known as Toms River Chemical/ Ciba Geigy) for over 30 years and also worked for Dover Township Public Works for 10 years. Pomi loved little league baseball and spent many years at the field watching, coaching, and managing his sons, grandsons, and great grandson. He enjoyed car racing and watching FOX News. He was a Trump supporter. Pomi took pride in what you would call the Pomeroy Home, a place where his door was always open and many have stayed, too many to name but they all know what he did for them.

Earl is predeceased by 8 siblings and 9 nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Evernham Pomeroy; 4 sons, Michael Pomeroy and significant other Amanda Winters, Thomas Pomeroy and wife Jaime, Earl Pomeroy Jr. and wife Feliz and also ex-wife Angela and her husband Mikey Terranova, Charles Pomeroy and wife Kim; 14 grandchildren, Britaney, Zak, Connor, Joseph, Jacob, Giorgio, Richie, Meghan, Kathleen, Patrick, Earl III, Orlando, Patrice, and Charley Rose; 2 great grandsons Talon and Quinn; and many nieces and nephews.

Rest In Peace Pomi, you were an amazing man with a huge heart! I will never forget all that you did for me and the love you always shared. Our after dinner coffee and scratch off ticket runs to 7-11 will always be a special memory for me ❤️ I could never thank you and Mommy Pomi for all that you did and for taking me in when I didn’t want to move away from Toms River. Fly high with the angels ! Sending much love to the entire Pomeroy family. Forever in my heart -Kimmie
