Obituary

Ashley Marie Ortiz-Milne, 28 years old, born April 1992 has passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020. Ashley was born and raised in Howell Township where she attended Ramtown Elementary and graduated from Howell High School in 2010, later to attend Brookdale Community College. Involved in activities during her youth she gathered a variety of friends who remember her with fondness. The smiles she brought to Monmouth Medical Cleft Palate Team were cherished as she inspired many others to learn to love themselves as a gift from God. Her service to others in the community of addiction was appreciated by the lives that she touched. An employee of Freehold Toyota she worked as the online sales employee for numerous years. Ashley was a special soul who touched the lives of so many people. Sadly, her battle with addiction was lost, now she rests in peace. Ashley is celebrated by her many extensive loving family members.

Ashley is survived by her brother John M. Milne and his wife Samantha Milne, her mother Shannon Ortiz-Milne Sandstrom and stepfather Joseph Sandstrom, her father John E. Ortiz and stepmother Shannan Ortiz. Her grandmothers Patricia Milne and Margarita Ortiz grieve the loss of their granddaughter who now joins her grandfather’s Theodore Ortiz and Ronald Milne.

The Family has planned a Life Celebration for Ashley at their home on Sunday, June 14, 2020 from 1PM to 8PM. All who knew and loved Ashley are welcomed to gather in reflection and join in final prayer with Reverend John Strain. Please bring a single flower to place beside her urn. Death Doula Care support will be provided. For information, please contact Mastapeter Memorial Home in Bayville at (732) 269-3100.

This beautiful creature came into my life in 2014. She was so sweet and had the most loving heart of anyone I ever met. She accepted me as her stepmom even though we were not so far off from age which we laughed about many of times! I enjoyed her company when were in town, and our talks on the phone to checkin on each other! I will miss those talk dearly! I will miss you very much my ashley, but I know you will rest now in peace with no more pain and suffering. I love you kiddo!
Your stepmom,
Shannan

I’m lucky enough to say I knew Ashley when she was just a wee little Kindergartener! She and my daughter Rachel became best friends FAST, and were both in my Daisy, Brownie & Girl Scout Troop for many years! We shared soooo many happy times when life was a LOT simpler! I felt a special connection to her and her family. We were like family! One of my favorite GS memories tho was our Summer over-night-camping trip in Camp Sacajawea! It was almost a total disaster! Bugs, skunks and too many hot little girls in one smelly tent! Ashley wasn’t havin any of it! She wanted to go home sooo bad! We all encouraged her to stick it out and we promised she’d have fun! Well, long story short..... SHE STAYED, and she DID HAVE FUN! And right before it was time to say go back home, she came up to me with a big hug and thanked me! I will think about Ashley with a tearful smile and remember her fondly.... forever. Rest in sweet peace, Ash.... you are already missed!
Love to you and the entire family!
Sincerely,
“Ms. Becki”
