William “Bill” H. Young Sr., 89, of Bayville passed away on September 27, 2019. Born in Lakewood and raised in Elizabeth, Bill has been a resident of Bayville since 1995. He was employed as a Union County Police Officer with 29 years of service. He also served as president of the Union County Park Police PBA. After retiring he worked as a security guard at the Elizabeth Public Library. Mr. Young proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing off his boat in the Barnegat Bay but most of all his family was the most important part of his life.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 63 years, Pauline; his 5 children, Patricia Kozachek and her husband Paul, Diane Young, William Young Jr. and his wife Deborah, Michael Young and Kimberly and James Young and Teressa; his 11 grandchildren, Stephanie, Scott, Michelle, Melissa, Miguel, William, Tara, Meaghan, Dina Marie, Christine and Kimmy. Also surviving are 13 great grandchildren, a sister Dorothy Venezio and her husband Michael “Chick” and many extended family and friends.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 4pm – 8pm at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd. Bayville, NJ 08721. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 8:30am in the funeral home before leaving to celebrate a 9:30am Funeral Mass at St. Barnabas Church in Bayville. Burial will immediately follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
